Types of applications for the iPhone
WebApps: These are applications that are hosted on a web server of the Internet and run on the iPhone’s browser. They have the advantage that there is no need to install anything, and disadvantages that can not access any hardware or software, our iPhone – eg can not play sounds, use geo-location or access the contact list – and if we have no connection can not access them.
Applications of the Apple App Store: they can install native applications from the iPhone or from accessing the Apple iTunes App Store. These applications unlike the native WebApps are so we can always use them or not have connection. The problem with these applications is that for Apple to approve them have had to adhere to a series of tyrannical restrictions that prevent them from doing more interesting things like running background task, running applets, to access the hardware side, receive notifications and a so on.
Applications Installer or Cydia: they can install applications that only when we opened or jailbrekeado “our iPhone. This process will allow us to install, through two programs called “Installer” and “Cydia” application that will not have any restrictions imposed by Apple, so the potential of functionality is usually much larger than the applications the Store. The disadvantage is that they have not been validated or tested by Apple and therefore, just to be able to access all the hardware, are more hazardous than the Store.
